Welcome to Salem Kindergarten! We are off to a great start and are looking forward to an exciting year! I have very high expectations for my classroom and encourage all parental cooperation to ensure all students achieve to their greatest potential!

This week in Kindergarten:

Alphabet: We have learned the letters Aa through Ii and the sounds that they make! We have also brainstormed all the words that begins with these letters and had a snack to eat with each letter! You may monitor how your child is doing with the Progress Reports or any notes that may have been sent home.

Math: We have been working on Numbers...we have covered 1-8 and will complete to 10 this week. The children should be able to recognize these numbers out of order, print the numbers correctly, as well as, count objects by touching to make each number. For example, #5...count 5 toys, etc...If your child is having trouble with printing the numbers...Remind them to say the "number poem" as they print the number on paper.

Theme: We just completed our "Animal" unit and have begun to work on "Community Helpers." Our Field Trip will also reinforce different jobs and services that people provide in our community.
