Welcome to Mr. Godby's

 6th Grade Webpage!

October 9, 2011

The first 9 weeks will end October 11 and parents can look for Grade Cards to be sent home after Fall Break.  Fall Break will be October 12, 13, and 14.    The 6th graders reward trip to the state park last Friday was a huge success!  The kids had a great time on the nature trail and eating at the tasty buffet.  Some of the kids went to play mini-golf where Jacob, Dalton, Caleb, and Chris used some rather tricky putts to defeat Mr. "Tiger" Robertson and myself...:)

Since this will be a short week the 5th and 6th graders will do a brief standards review and practice informational text.

It is my hope and prayer that all students and their families will have a safe Fall Break and enjoy their time together.

Please don't forget that reading at home each day will further help the students improve their reading abilities.  Practice makes perfect...:).

Recently, the 6th graders completed lessons about the harmful effects of bullying and strategies they can use if they encounter a bully.  The students pledged to watch out for one another and be on the lookout for any bully behaviors.  Here are some 6th graders hard at work on their anti-bully posters...
