Minutes from PTO Meeting...

April 27, 2009

The SES PTO met on Monday, April 27, 2009.  The meeting was called to order by President Sherra Rogers.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read by Secretary: Beth Glover. A motion was made by Mr. Grider to accept the minutes. The motion was seconded by Carla Hart and the motion carried.

The Treasurer's report was read by Kami Lawsom, treasurer.  A motion was made by Carla Hart to accept the minutes with a second by Amy Godby.  The motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS:

1.  The yearbooks should be arriving by the middle of May.

2. The Kroger card balance is $4,330

3. The final learning labs are being held this week and the PTO will serve snacks to the students

 

NEW BUSINESS:

1. Fund rasing for next year was discussed. Sherra mentioned that the Computers for Education fundraiser would kick off the new school year in Aug. or Sept.

2. PTO officers for 09-10 were discussed.  Mr. Grider made a motion to keep all of the officers the same with the exception of adding Carla Hart, who will be replacing Beth Glover as secretary. Amy Godby seconded the motion and the motion carried.

3.Mr. Grider asked the PTO if they could provide the end of the year awards for the students. Carla Hart made a motion.  Amy Godby seconded and the motion carried.

4. Site Based Council elections were discussed.  It was decided that Thursday, April 30, 2009 would be the day for nominations.  An election would be held on the following Thursday, if needed.

5.Teacher Appreciation Week is the week of May 1st. A motion was made by Amy Godby to put an ad in the paper thanking the teachers. The motion was seconded by Carla Hart and the motion carried.

With no other new business, Mr. Grider made a motion to adjourn the meeting. It was seconded by Carla Hart.  The motion carried. The next PTO meeting will be held the 4th Monday in August.
